About Us

The Avon Business & Leisure Centre (ABLC) started in 1968, it was given as a trust property to the association, and was set up as a registered charity.

The ABLC was the first centre built in the area to allow disabled people to access with ease and provides excellent disabled facilities.

Back in the early seventies, well known groups such as Freddie & the dreamers, the searchers etc (if you're old enough to remember these groups) used the old function room.

In the mid nineties, we were lucky enough to get a donation of over £100,00 from the national lottery and the single regeneration budget/ gateway project. This sealed the future of the centre into one of the busiest in the area.

The current building was opened in 2005 and has gone from strength to strength.

At the start of a new century we look forward to a bright future, with the support of our community and you're bookings.
